Mine is an inner city school. The first semester I found a club but the sponsors slacked off. This second semester I want to start a new one. But IDK if anyone wanna join. Would you? ( BTW I think only junior & senior would join the club anyway)

Only if there was free pizza.

At the beginning of the year, we hold an assembly for all the clubs to talk about why you should join. And they always finish with, “and we’ll have free pizza!!”

I do have lots of food but dont seem to attract lots of them

I would join:)

^^ MEE TOO! Especially since no one would think I’m diverse(tear, tear). That would make me diverse. hmm.

But seriously, make flyers, advertise free food for meetings every so often, and you’re there.

I did. Actually I did make flyers and banners and food, sometimes I put it in the morning announcement. The first meeting I thought went very well though a bit long, but since the second meeting people started dropping out.
I talked to my sponsors. 4 of them. They don’t help. They say they’re too busy. Theyre not at all supportive. Not even say any words about the club. Not advertise. I think Imma cut off with them and find a good new sponsor.
But the problem with any inner city school is they have too many people. Teachers are hence very busy and up to their faces in work. Anyone from an inner city school? What do you think the best way to promote the club?

I’m not from an inner city school, but I know that one way a lot of clubs draw and keep members at my school is by promoting it as something that looks good for college, and good in admissions essays, that sort of thing. So tell your friends and put that on the flyers, that always seems to do the trick. Also, making a FB group or something might draw more people; you could make it, invite everyone you know, etc., and then put the updates and things on there.

thank you anyone else?

What would you do in it?

I would join!

I actually founded a Gay-Straight Alliance at my school this year (my senior year), and it has been a complete success thus far. We have about 20-30 members of a 2000-member student body. So far this year, we have celebrated Ally Week, and we are very close to doing classroom visits to inform classes what we’re really about and to promote respect for diversity in all forms. We are also doing a survey to measure quantitatively the climate of the school. We will also participate in Day of Silence, and we may do a partnership with a local anti-suicide group. Oh, and we might take a trip to Pride!

oh isnt the Gay Straight Alliance the same as Diversity club? Do you have AIM or anything so we can talk about that? Thank you
