So I’m a rising senior, getting ready to apply to colleges this fall. This one kid in my grade won a 10,000 dollar leadership scholarship. I was really happy for him and all, because I thought he deserved the scholarship. But my friend told me that he basically lied about everything. He said he was captain of debate, academic team, robotics, and basically every other club at our school. It pisses me off SOO MUCH because I’m on debate and A-team and he barely even participated, let alone was captain. He took away that from someone who deserved it. Also, how the heck did he get away with this? Like, don’t scholarships bother to cross check? Anyways, I’m debating whether or not I should snitch. But as they say-snitches get stitches.
You may(and should) report this your GC and let them handle the rest. If you feel like you might be chastised for this from one party or another, place a note in the GC’s mailbox under the alias ‘concerned student’.
Your basis for this outrage is THIRD-HAND information??
A friend of a friend? Tenuous at best. You have no proof; let it go.
Does it really matter? Do you have any solid proof that he lied? Sure, you can report him to a GC, but I doubt much action will be taken, especially if your claim has no evidence.
In all honesty, I would just confront the person and if he seems suspect then you should report I guess; however it may just backfire. I would just stand back and let the universe work its magic for some karma to come back to him…you know what they say what comes around goes around. But maybe there are more layers to this story like he’s desperate I don’t know, you should just let it be and don’t spread the rumors.
I would get proof first if I were you, or submit something anonymously.
