im already writing my appeal and getting everything ready as im typing right now. UCI it is definately ON!

errr, if anyone does know anything about ucsc gimme a msg tho, never thought id be goin there so iono anything about it.

i got a d for honors alg 2 but i made it up over the summer in a regular class so the grade in over summer would replace the d right? if so my gpa just went up .1 of a pt and that is alot x.x

awwww tr1p7s dont even worry.
things are gonna be okayyyyyyyy.
where else did yu get into?

SB and R but i had my sights set on I after the rejection from SD and a really possible rejection from USC. and if you say SB is a good school please dont... i've heard it enough from my teachers and friends but my dadwill kill me if i go there

Oh my gosh, tr1p7s, I just want to give you a big hug right now.

huggles -

why would you want to hug me???

my friend got rejected from SD but accepted to USC.
the UCs are just really messed up this year.

UCI has to be the most messed up UC ever. They wait till the freaking end to reject a huge pool of applicants that I believe are totally eligible and deserve to be accepted. They better expect the appeals to come in because im really ****ed rite now.

xD
Sorry, the crying thing made me really sad :(
- pat pat -

what are you guys gonna write about in your appeals? besides the fact that you're completely eligible for a spot at uci and less deserving people got in.. hah i dont think they want to hear the second part..

i made a mistake on mai app that deprived me of about 360 hours of ECs and i reiterated my statements that were unclear in my personal statement

i'm going to ask my counselor about a grade (d in honors alg 2 but made it up, my hs avged the 2 grades, but how does UC see it? if it replaces, then i have a gpa of 3.8 instead of 3.7), then i had a private tutoring job where i raised the kids grade from a f to a c over the time of a month and a 1/2, i placed in a journalism competition that consisted of schools from east LA and is going to the next round of competiton consisting of winners from the south ca region. and i prob can dig up more but gotta check with gc

Is it just me or did UCI all of a sudden become really hard to get into?

My friend back in 2005 applied and his stats weren't great. 3.7 UC GPA and like a 1080 on the SAT (old one) with scattered volunteer stuff. And he got in as a Bio major.

And now people today are getting rejected with 3.9 GPA's and 2000+ SAT scores. ****ing ridiculous.

BTW to ppl doing appeals, yeah don't say less deserving people got in b/c you'll just get laughed at. They'll say they wrote brilliant essays or something to counter that argument.

wow, i got into UCSD, but rejected from UCI wow.
haha, but it was prolly because i applied for business

rejected with a 2020, 31.25 ACT (32.25 superscored), 800 Math 2 C, 640 USH, 9 AP Classes, 8 honors classes, 2 community college classes (Calculus and Physics), 3 varsity letters, and 200+ comm service hours.

wow... sorry to hear that Ohnonomiss
i'd be hella ****ed too

man... after reading several posts... realized that wow... we're a bunch of depressed asian kids...
but yea.. dont let this uci rejection thing get in our way. because we know we're better than that. plus undergrad doesn't really matter

it's all about who will get to the top later on in life.

good luck to all, wherever we all end up going to!

Sucks to hear that, but I lol'd when you said you checked your status 5x a day for 27 days. lol

Ohnomiss that really sucks. I was less qualified than you were, but even I feel I had a shot at getting in. Even crazier was my friend who got in with a 3.4 and a 1600 on the SAT.

I call shenanigans.
