I'm curious as to how competitive the business administration program was this year. I know it only enrolls 150 but it's like a thorn to my side to know I got rejected from it.

It makes me feel like it invalidates the higher UC's I got into in some way (ie. fluke acceptance).

I'm not quite sure how it relates to the other UCs, but Irvine apparently accepted 2000 LESS candidates this year, so possibly normal shoe-ins were pushed aside for a smaller class?

My business professor said they had over 4000 students apply for 150 spots in the business administration major. About 500 were accepted into the major.

Know I am jumping in this discussion late but I got my rejection on line on March 29th. Anyway after seeing the stats of some of you others I don't feel so bad. I have a 3.6 GPA though 10-11th grade and a total SAT score of 1900. I rushed my application and left my community service and extracurricular sparse and wonder if that is why. I got my Davis rejection right near the start of March. Anyway I appealed both Davis and UCI. Davis appeal decision date is March 30th (heard it is the same for everyone). Irvine does not even offer a date, just a claim they will email me a date once a date to tell me is selected. Anyway I got into UC Riverside and Cal State Long Beach. I decided on Riverside over Long Beach. I will send my SIR in next week to Riverside unless I hear from Irvine first. Haven't visited Davis yet since i was rejected (I live near Irvine).

really ****ed at Irvine today... i come home from not a particularly good day at school and i find a letter from UCI. they had waited a month after i found out i was rejected online to notify me that i was rejected on paper. felt like they were rubbing it in my face. o wells UCSB here i come

^ yeah i just got my rejection letter yesterday as well... it scared me at first because i thought it was my appeal decision and i was like oh noooo. but it was only the first rejection letter... wth they are so slooowww
