Wow, I think I'm really, really starting to get senioritis

Wow, I can't believe it, but I think I have horrible senioritis!! It's literally impossible for me to care about anything anymore! The thing is that I've always cared a helluva lot about grades and have always taken school extremely seriously, but this year, the only grades I seem to care about are math and science since those are my fortes. Am I the only person the after focusing throughout and working my a** off throughout highschool experiencing senioritis? How big of a deal are 1st semester senior grades anyway, because I'm trying my best to care, and maybe understanding that first semester senior grades do matter some might change it, but DANG! I'm really mad at myself!!

I'm going through the same thing...the only classes that I'm really working hard at are Bible as Lit and Government because I need them to graduate.

They do matter, though, because they're the most recent grades colleges see when they're reviewing your app. So work work work!!!

Right now I'm still working because I need to have good senior grades just in case, and my apps are eating me alive.

But next semester....haha wow I can't see myself doing much of anything.

I need to keep working because I've already been accepted to my 2nd choice but if they see me slipping they might rescind said acceptance. I can't have that happen!!!

Yea, Bible is an easy A for me because its participation, and my teacher has his masters in theology, so it is always engaging and thought provoking. As for my other classes, the only thing that has kept me accountable about doing and turing in assignments is that my friends continue to put together study groups, bless them.

One a seperate note, Hisgracefillsme, are you considering a religious college? If so, what ones in your opinion are good?

I'm not, actually...I thought about it, but it just wasn't really one of the things that were high up on my list.

Now if I had to pick good ones:

Biola and Westmont are high up there, as is Azusa. I have friends at all three and they all love it.

I crossed Biola and Azusa off my list last year, but they are great schools. Thank you.

i have 155 paragraphs due in like a week for my american govt class.

anddd i have, i think, three essays due for english tomorrow.

and an oral practical for sports medicine tomorrow. about what muscles produce what movement. and i know NONE out of the 50 muscles we are supposed to know, seriously. but i think i can get out of doing it tomorrow because i visited reed and missed some school last week.

but yeah, i am starting to slump. i was doing good for a while, but now i am ready for a break. i cant wait for thanksgiving.

155 paragraphs??????

3 more days until Turkey break. That is when I'll catch up with all my work.

MSHP, your school must have a mega break or something. we just get thanksgiving and the friday after it off.

Yeah, I somehow have to find time to write nine essays for lit by Friday. The sad thing is that I'm not behind. We get assigned 2-3 essays daily, min. 3 pgs. Stupid AP lit. I can't wait until we finish Crime and Punishment!! Then I can go finish that physics hw I've been blowing off since October...

I feel ya..
i'm in ib and we have all this "fluff" we have to do..(ex: extended essay) which really doesn't count for our high school grades, only for our ib grades which colleges don't even see and so i've given up caring and i'm turning in a 900 word extended essay (the minimum is 3000 words).. not to mention the fact that i've skipped a total of 5 classes in the last 2 weeks...

I can definitely see where you're coming from. I have the opposite situation--Right now, I'm working harder than I ever did and have the best grades I've ever had. Just tell yourself: SENIOR YEAR IS 50% OVER! That's what MY motivation is.

I have to get through the rest of this week before Thanksgiving break. Then after two weeks off, I have three more weeks of this semester, and no more AP Physics B! =D That and the year is almost half over.

I just need to get over the hurdle of a physiology project due the day we come back from Thanksgiving break that I haven't started yet >_> and my math II and chemistry subject tests on the 1st. I guess I should be concerned about finals too...

But the year is almost half over! (>'.')>

I'm getting junioritis...I just find it so difficult to care about pre-calc at all...it's a trial just to do the homework. Other classes are okay, but knowing it's only the 51st day of school for us (out of 180), it's a long road ahead.

^Year's half over? That's crazytalk!

Yeah, we get a whole week off for Turkey break (it overlaps with parent-teacher conferences) :)

But, we do start school ridiculously early -- like mid-August.

Correction: I have one week off and four weeks of this semester left, but my Christmas/winter vacation is three weeks long :D.

You think your school starts early? We start the second week of August. The first day this year was August 8th. However, school ends the last day of May. Maybe that's why.

would colleges really "unaccept" you if your grades are going down senior year?

it depends on which school you are talking about. and how much your grades decrease.

speaking of decreasing grades, im getting off cc. adios muchachos.
