PHEW... ok so here is my college list:
Johns Hopkins University (ED)
Carnegie Mellon University
Lehigh University
Rice University
University of California- SD or Irvine
University of Pittsburgh
University of Rochester
University of Washington

Please tell me what you think my chances are for these schools- (reach, good match, safety etc.) And any other recommendations will be totally helpful! THANK YOU SO MUCH!! You guys are terrific! =D

Johns Hopkins University (ED)- reach
Carnegie Mellon University- reach
Lehigh University- reach
Rice University- reach
University of California- SD or Irvine- match
University of Pittsburgh- match
University of Rochester- low reach
University of Washington- match

thanks chances~! =)
But I guess none of them are considered "safety schools" hmm.. what would be a good safety school for me? And I've heard that for UC schools, if I'm out of state, that might be a reach? =/ And do any of the following I've listed seem like it's not worth applying for? Like I don't have a chance of getting in compared to others.. (please be brutally honest)

Umm anyone else? Please tell me your thoughts. I have to choose my list of colleges by TOMORROW~~!! (for college recommendation and etc..)

swizzlesodapop:

UCSD: Reach (out of state)
UCI: Slight Reach (out of state)

Why are UC schools a reach for out of state candidates? And is GPA the main factor of these schools?

Johns Hopkins University (ED)--reach (SAT scores are a real problem for you at this school)
Carnegie Mellon University--slight reach to reach (once again--SATs)
Lehigh University--match to slight reach
Rice University--reach (Rice is as difficult or more so that John Hopkins to get into)
University of California- San Diego--slight reach to reach (OOS)
UC Irvine--match to slight reach (OOS)--you should apply here, you are about 45%-50% to get in

P.S. Although you didn't ask, UC Santa Cruz is probably a match (OOS) (55% to 60%)

University of Pittsburgh--match
University of Rochester--match to slight reach
University of Washington--match

If I were you, I'd apply ED to Carnegie Mellon or University of Rochester instead of John Hopkins, because at John Hopkins you have very little chance of acceptance.

Also, UC schools are tough for out-of-state candidates, since about 86% of the students accepted are from in-state, leaving very few spots for all the out-of-state students that want to move to (or go to school in) California.

Good luck.
