Has anybody attended this program?
Is it a quality program?
Any information would be appreciated

Bump^^ Anyone?

S attended this the summer between junior & senior year of HS. He is now a freshman at WPI. He had a great time, and learned a lot. His focus was “Interactive Media & Game Design” (IMGD) which is the fastest growing major at WPI.

S was all about IMGD when he applied to WPI, but at some point before starting there in the fall he did a 180 and is now majoring in Computer & Electrical Engineering. (He has also joined AF ROTC, and wants to be a pilot. We’ll see how that goes.)

Anyway, from his/our perspective, it’s a solid program.

Thank you so much for your imput! Best of luck to your S.

Has anyone else attended this program?

bump^^ anyone??

I’m looking into in NJ Mom for my junior son. Sounds interesting and it’s more reasonably priced then other ones I’ve looked at.

S attended Session 2 for Robotics last summer, before his senior year. He said the first few days were slow, then it suddenly became intense - but in a good way. There were late nights of robot design and construction for the competition on the last day. He was already on a FIRST robotics team so I don’t know that he learned a lot, but he enjoyed it and I think it was a good experience for him. WPI made a good impression, too - he applied and has been accepted for Fall 2011. S2 plans to apply for Frontiers Session 1 this summer.

reviving thread for 2013:

Any additional info re: Interactive Media and Game Design for Frontiers?
Are the humanities workshops required or can you focus your time to your specialty area?

bump 10char

Any additional info about Interactive Media & Game Design in WPI? Same concerns. :)

S went to study Biotechnics. There is one other class required besides the area of most interest. My S ended up taking one which helped him write his college entrance essay. Came home with an almost complete essay…so it was well worth it! He is now a freshman at WPI. We all couldn’t say enough wonderful things about the program!
