I have to choose soon between WPI and BU.
I feel that BU is the better school but WPI is giving me $10000 scholarship.
Which one would give me the best chances for Medical school?
Whats the difference in social life? Ive visited Bu but have never even been to Worcester.

By all means, go visit WPI. You need to for peace of mind to make that decision.

By the numbers (admitted SAT scores, etc), these are two very similar colleges but somewhat different flavors. I lived near BU (but went to another college) when I was in school and my daughter attends WPI currently. BU seems integrated into the city of Boston while WPI seems somewhat separate from mainstream Worcester (although the city is there when you need it).

IMHO, you can’t go wrong with either one. It does come down to personal preference. So go visit WPI.

Yes, a visit to WPI is required to evaluate. It’s not like BU in many ways: In a totally different type of neighborhood and city, very different size of campus/programs/student population. If social options are that important to you, BU offers endless opportunities due to its size and location. WPI less so
They are both great schools that are well-respected, but they are totally different. Don’t jump at the scholarship money until you know that WPI is a good fit for you.
