Well,anyone ?

Commuters in the 1900s encountered more traffic delays (than) 1970s and 1980s

you compare Commuters to the years 1970s and 1980s
)than commuters did in- you compare Commuters in 1990 to Commuters in 1970-1980

In 1991,Burmese military officials arrested dissident political leader Aung San Suu Kyy ,(thereby) (preventing) her (from leaving) Burma for accepting the Nobel Preace Prize in Oslo

I think it should be and accept or in order to accept. it just sound wrong you leave your state to go to college not for going to college

q14 ,section 10min/14ques

The crowds that flocked to the World
s Fair in Chicago in 1893 were larger and more enhusiastic ( than the crowds at the World
s Fair in Paris had been a few years earlier)

A) as it is
E)in comparison to those at the World`s Fair in Paris

I just think E is less wordy

It came as sth of a surprise that the state supreme court struck down the new law,(which had passed so easily) in the state legislature

the law had passed in the state legislature … and the the court stuck it down
having passed it so easily… means that the law pass and still doing the “pass” it start in the past and continue until the court struck it. But you just pass a law , end of story

will be like
having practice so hard, Jon is one of the best player of the league

Well done ido.potter. I agree with each answer.

Thanks

So bad I mess up my writing section every time. I make stupid mistakes that I know they are wrong the minute I end my test. One week to the SAT, I have to find a way to stay cool:

I hate when I make errors on improving paragraphs.Even one is too much

What is your trick to stay calm?
I can live with 2-4 question I didn’t know to answer and omit ,but to make a mistake:

Dont omit :)If you can eliminate 3 answer choices ,go and choose the one that is less wordy. This is my scheme and works very well.

Murphy and I are not good friends. Every time I left with two answers it is like:
MMM B or D … it must to be D (WELLLLL not it is always F*&$ing B!)

so the ones I omit are those I don’t know what is wrong with them

recently, fast-food restaurants have responded to criticism that their food offerings are unhealthy (by adding )to their menus items that are lower in fat and calories and smaller in portion size …

a) by adding
e) thereby adding

a is the answer but why e is wrong ??
