Hate that y’all have to wait so long! When my D auditioned they still did rolling admissions, so we knew quickly. After the huge current Sophomore class when almost everyone for Acting & MT accepted, they stopped doing rolling admissions.
Same here. S knew before Christmas and had that “in his back pocket” as he went through the rest of the audition season. Rooting for your Ds @Mardeen and @Wickersham2365.
Thank you, @mom4bwayboy
We are also waiting on pins and needles for Wright! D loved Joe Deer!! I worry though that Moonifieds was so long ago and they don’t remember those kids.
Does Wright waitlist as well? Do the letters say “accepted, rejected, waitlisted”?
@MTheaterMom - not sure exactly what the letters say, but they definitely waitlist. Hoping for good news for everyone waiting on those letters!
Joe Deer is terrific. Thinking good thoughts for your S/D @MTheaterMom!
Best wishes @Mardeen, @MTheaterMom and @Wickersham2365 and your S/D’s! My S is a freshman and couldn’t be more happy with his choice and acceptance! Also, these WSU Moms in this thread were and continue to be tons of help to me.
FYI, the ‘yes’ letters came in a small letter size envelope… single sheet of paper.
@MTmom2015 Thank you! I’m trying to be patient. I’m not sure if I’m eager for next week to get here? Or terrified! lol
It sounds like Wright State sent emails out this morning to those it’s accepting to the MT and Acting programs with the promise of a letter to follow by mail. Nothing in the inbox. Sad day.
Hang in there @Mardeen. Silence is not a “no”, it may be a “not yet”.
We are also hoping for a “not yet”. @Mardeen – I’ve already seen someone with a WSU offer who is going to another program. Hopefully they will quickly decline for the sake of the “not yet” people. This is tough knowing they are going out and we have not seen anything yet.
Fingers still crossed for those of you who haven’t heard - they will definitely have a wait list, and spots will open up!
I tried to edit my post above as I feel like it was not congratulatory to those kids who have heard already. Since I cant edit it I will say congrats to who have heard! And to those of us who are waiting – best of luck in the next few weeks!
@Wickersham2365 You are so right! I’m thrilled for the kids who’ve been accepted! I hope I didn’t come across the wrong way. I think WSU is a fantastic program and huge congrats to the kids that got good news today!
@sopranomtmom - congrats on your D’s acceptance to WSU BFA Acting! If you have questions about the Acting at WSU, I’m sure @MTmom2017 can answer - her D is a senior in that program.
Haha @mom4bwayboy - she’s MT, but between the moms on here we can probably get Acting questions answered for you @sopranomtmom !
Dag, sorry about that. It’s late and I’m a bit punchy tonight. (at SETC auditions. . .)
Hooray to all who heard today! Nothing in our email…We loved Joe Deer and the kids at WSU. fingers crossed that it could be a maybe?
Thanks for the kind words everyone! My D is even more thrilled after reviewing the curriculum and requirements for the Acting BFA. Not only is it intensive acting training all 4 years which she really desires, it also requires one or more years of dance and FOUR years of singing with three of those years consisting of private voice twice a week. It truly seems like the best of both worlds from a training standpoint and she would exit with a degree that could hopefully open doors in theatre, film, television as well as MT. It has quickly risen to the top of her list! Fingers crossed for everyone still waiting!
