I am a junior musical theatre major at Wright State and I would love to talk about the program with parents and/or students that have questions about our program while trying to make the right choice! Feel free to ask!

Got a question for you… are you in the cast for next month’s Titanic production? We’re hoping to come over for one of the shows. Is it necessary to get tickets in advance, and/or what performances have the smallest crowds and are easiest to get good seats? My D will be a freshman MT student at WSU next fall, and we’d like to see a production.

Hi mtTim,
My D & I are visiting the campus in May and are coming to see Titanic. We have never been to the campus, so we don’t really know our way around. I got a campus map from the site but I don’t see a theatre actually listed on there. Is it in the Creative Arts bldg? What about parking when you come to a show? We are seeing the show on a Sunday and then doing our campus visit on a Monday. Thanks!

I am not actually in Titanic because I am doing “A Little Night Music” at a professional theatre in Cincinnati. Joe Deer, the head of our musical theatre department is directing it and some of the Wright State students were fortunate to be cast in it. Titanic runs May 14-31. I would say that you should not have a problem getting tickets at this point. The box office number is (937) 775-2500. You can call them during the day and he can give you details on what shows are selling and what shows are not. We are also doing “Angels In America” which is in our black box theatre downstairs (I am assistant directing this production,) if you are interested! Let me know if you have any questions and tell your daughter that if she has any questions I can give her my email! Hope to see you soon!

Great! Titanic will be a really great show! Yes, the theatre is in the Creative Arts Center. At the front, there is a huge glass doorway that leads into the lobby of the CAC. The theatre is right there on your right hand side. It is called the Festival Playhouse. Parking is right in front of the main entrance in the parking lot. The box office number is (937) 775-2500 if you have any questions about ticket sales or anything! Hopefully I’ll see you there! Let me know if you have any more questions!

If you call Vicki Oleen, she might be able to get you a couple free tickets to the show since you are incoming/interested students! Just call 937-775-3072, ask for Vicki, and tell her your situation and I’m sure she’d be happy to help! I am in Titanic, and I think it is going to be a very exciting show to see! I’m so glad that you’re coming!

Also- if you would like to talk to students after the show, just tell me what night you’re coming and we could get together!

Thanks. Actually we have talked to her to set up our visit and she does have complimentary tickets there for us. We’re looking forward to our visit. We are coming on Sunday May 17 in the afternoon.

Yay! I’m glad you got things worked out!

yeah and like Molly said, if you guys would like to set up a meet and greet with us we could probably arrange to meet with you after the show is over. Just let us know!!

My daughter Melissa (incoming freshman MT next fall) will be attending the Sat night performance (May 23) along with us, would be glad to have a little “meet and greet” after the show. Let us know details.

My D and I just got back from our visit. Titanic was great! We really loved our visit. Very informative and since we sat in on two classes, we really got a good feel for the program I think. Everyone was wonderful-students and faculty alike.

I am so sorry that I missed your post! I have been very busy with things within the department. I really wish that I would have known that you were coming because I was house managing that evening. You probably saw me working… Let me know if there is anything else that I can do! Also I would love to hear your feedback on the show!

Tim

When is your show? D wants to look at WSU anyway so it would be a bonus to see a production!

@Walker - if you notice, the above posts were from 2009… However, Phantom of the Opera will be going up - I don’t know exact dates, but I believe it runs much of May.

Ha! Thanks for pointing that out! Lol
