My daughter is excited to be in Central... so what is Wright like?

Wright is centrally located, but definitely old. It (and Read) are one of the two remaining dorms on IU’s campus without air conditioning. So get ready to swelter for the first month or so. Standard community bathrooms, singles/doubles. The Wright food court is nice, but I suspect (just like everyone else), she’ll get tired of it fairly quickly. Foster’s Gresham is much nicer and with more choices, and Read has a formal dining room and a burrito place.

Wright is really close to:
-Wells, which will be nice if she has a lot of group projects
-SRSC, if she likes to work out (recommendation: take advantage)
-sorority houses, if she plans to rush
-the Wells library bus stops (catch the A bus)

It’s also an easy walk to most campus buildings, and a reasonable walk to Assembly Hall if she gets season bball tickets. It’s a little far from Kirkwood, but that’s what busses are for.

I lived in wright last year and I ended up really enjoying it. Plenty of washers and dryers and a 8 person computer lab were located 15 seconds from my room (I lived on the first floor). Never any shortage of hot water, maintenance/cleaning staff friendly. As previous poster mentioned it has a great location. It is hot at the beginning of the year. Roommate and I had 3 fans, one of which was on 24/7 and the others as needed. I would strongly recommend a window fan to draw in the cooler air at night. I enjoyed the food court myself, but I can see how others would get tired of it. Enjoy wright!
