Writer's block-ish

I’m trying to write an admission essay for my state’s honors college, but the prompts they’re giving me aren’t being helpful. I made NM finalist this year so I’m not too worried about being admitted, but I’d like to try and at least write a decent essay for the application.

Here are some of the prompts we can choose from

Describe a moment of decision in your life. If you could, what would you change about your decision and why?

Describe one of your accomplishments or a risk you have taken. Why is it important to you?

Describe a fictional or historical figure, or a creative work, or a scientific achievement. Why is it important to you?

Describe an issue - local, national or international, social, moral or political. Why is it important to you?

The problem I have is that although I’m academically qualified, I essentially have a pretty boring existence. I truly can’t think of any big events in my life that would be a good example for some of these topics. I’ve never won any sports tournaments, I’m not the president of anything, I don’t go train for long hours for any extracurricular activities, no life-changing impacts, and I don’t have many unique accomplishments either. I haven’t even done more than 50-60 hours of volunteer work through my 4 years of high school.(I sound like a lazy student, right?)

Since I can’t really think of any life examples to support any claims about me, it’s hard to explain why any of the people/things in these prompts would be important to me.

I’m pretty stuck right now, any suggestions would be very appreciated

What is important to you?

Is there anything at all that pops into your mind when you look at any of these questions? Even if it doesn't seem that important at first, if you latch on to one idea and explore it further, you may find that it can actually turn into a good essay.

Also, you say that "it's hard to explain why any people/things in these prompts would be important" to you, so at least you have an idea - why not try to explain, even if it seems hard at first, and see where that takes you?

Essentially, what I'm trying to say, is start writing, free-associating, whatever, and see what happens. Don't just give up cause you can't create a perfect essay the first go-round.
