Writing 2-3 vs. Writing 5

Any 2013's or prior years know about the 2 options for Writing or take 2-3 vs. 5?
Curious to know what percentage of the class does the 2/3 option (vs. 5)? What are the benefits / drawbacks you may be aware of (other than an extra course).

From the website, it sounds like they use SAT scores. Do they ever use any of the AP grades to gauge, since most require writing? If they use the ACT score, what are the cut offs for determining who does 2/3 vs. 5.

Any existing Dartmouth students out there?

For one, it is not very becoming of oneself to bump their own thread after only about an hour. However, in terms of writing 2/3, you have to be invited to take that course sequence. If your SAT/ACT score places you in that category it becomes largely a personal decision. However, it may be worth considering if they recommend it. They usually know what they’re talking about.
