Writing a peer rec for friend..can I send it Jan. 2?

So yeah..post offices are closed the 1st, right? So do I need to send it tomorrow, or can I wait til January 2nd?

I have the same question!!!!!! My friends app is already in, but not the peer rec yet, I don't want to screw it up.

It's not a big deal if the peer rec is in late. Just send it in ASAP.

Perhaps you should ask your friend what s/he would want? I realize that if you took the full weekend to do the evaluation, it might be better than doing it between now and tomorrow afternoon (whenever your post office closes). But what if your friend really wants it by the deadline?

Well, if you do choose to send it in on the 2nd, just remember to inform your friend ;]

(I don't think it's a big deal if the peer eval is a day late either)

Aren't post offices closed on January 2nd as well because someone died? Or Ford went bankrupt? I'm not sure but they are closed; something to do with Ford.

post offices will be open, egad

just take it in...and IF they are closed, i would THINK dartmouth would figure that out, right?

Ummmm, it says in bold letters on the USPS homepage that they will be closed. I still haven't even asked my friend to write me one =/ I will in a couple hours though.

tuesday is a national holiday in honor of the passing of Gerald Ford. All federal buildings are closed.

That's what I heard too...is postmarking it January 3rd alright? I emailed my GC and she said that it probably would be.

I would think as long as you have YOUR application in on time, that should be ok, it would kind of stink to be penalized for your friend not getting the eval. in before the 1st.
