Hey all,
I got a 670 on the SAT II: Writing test. If you remember, the question asked whether or not you agree that the worlds of art and science communicate (or some variation of that). Anyway, I was wondering how many examples would suffice to get a 12 on this essay? I gave two personal observation examples by the way. Thanks

bump bump bump

One of my friends told me that the more you write, the better chance you have of getting a good score on your writing sample. Readers have to go through so many of these essays and really quick. So it seems logical that a longer essay subconsiously looks better, i guess. I used the entire space this last time and got an 800 overall even though I'm not sure my essay was even that great. Also, my friend also told me that crossing things out makes it look like you don't know what yer saying, so erase if you have time.

back to your question (sorry, got a bit off topic), I suppose two examples might be sufficient if you went into detail about both of them. I used 4 or 5 examples, but only had time to briefly mention the significance of each.

not that it matters, but by the way, did you agree (science and art don't communicate) or disagree?
i disagreed

hope that sorta helps

the books i read about the Writing exam said that 3-4 examples should be enough, and that your essay shouldnt really be more than 5-6 paragraphs, although you should try to use all of your space. I dont know if 2 examples is enough for a 12, but if you elaborated enough it should still warrent a good score. I used 3 examples (a 5 paragraph essay) on the Oct writing exam and got a 10.

how is this a crisis?
