Is pretty insane. Today I finished grading my test and I got 4 wrong (my all time low!) and my score was a 670.

Anyone else feel that the writing curve is equally harsh as the math's curve

Anyone else feel that the writing curve is equally harsh as the math's curve

Yea man… I got -4 with a 10 essay for a 710. Usually, I always get 750+… :(

Mine was -3 and essay 12, but only 750.
It’s somehow even stricter than the math curve.

4 wrong for a 670? Where did you get that from? The collegeboard book?

I find that pretty hard to believe unless you got like a 6 on the essay.

Actually I didn’t score my essay, I got it that score only from the writing multiple-choice conversion chart (I added zero)

The score you get from JUST the multiple choice is usually less than what it would be if you added in the essay. The essay’s actually a large part if your writing score.

Still, the curve is HARSH

Well, it’s kinda like writing a level zero essay, getting all the MC right, and then expecting 750+. You totally bombed the essay, so in CB’s mind, you can’t do enough to deserve 750+. you seem pretty talented in writing, so just use a 5 when grading essays. It’s a pretty conservative number, considering you will do 10-12 on the real thing.
