Writing Included in Reported SAT Scores?

<p>When using the College Confidential college search, in the MY SCORES SAT section it asks for a single number. Is that number the total of SAT reading, math and writing? Or is it reading and math only?</p>

<p>For example, my daughter scored Reading 420, Math 380 and Writing 470. If I disregard the Writing score, the total is 800, but if I include Writing, it is 1270. Which number do I use?</p>

<p>I tried using 800 and saw "100%" matches from several schools, even though some indicated an "average" SAT of 1400, so I'm very confused.</p>

<p>Yes, it includes writing because the scale is out of 2400.</p>
