<p>Answer is C(asked for) but I have no idea why. It seemed correct as is to me.</p>

<p>Aerial photography is thought TO BE THE MOST EFFICIENT technique TO GATHER accurate INFORMATION ABOUT the use of the land.</p>

<p>Answer is C(to gather) and I can kind of tell why but any explanation would be great.</p>

<p>DESPITE the CLAIMS OF ITS devotees, sunbathing is not always healthful; prolonged exposure TO IT CAN SOMETIMES CAUSE skin cancer. </p>

<p>Answer is C(to it) but it seemed correct to me because it refers to the sunbathing, though not directly I guess?</p>

<p>For your first question -- I seem to remember a thread about this exact same question a while back. You can try searching for it.</p>

<p>For your section question -- "to gather" should be replaced with "for gathering."</p>

<p>For your third question -- "to it" is incorrect, because "it" refers to sunbathing. However, it's not prolonged exposure to sunbathing hat causes skin cancer. It's prolonged exposure to the sun!</p>
