Writing Sample

Hello all. Reed sent me numerous letters over the year and when I finally looked into the school, it really captured my interest; it was the only one to do so.

That said, I want to submit a good writing sample but I'm not sure what to do. We've written zero essays in my AP Lit class, all the ones from AP Lang were peer-graded and kept by the teacher, AP Euro never gave them back and the couple from APUSH that were given back I've misplaced. I've gotten some back for AP World but I don't like their caliber.

Should I ask my Lit or World teacher (or maybe even my APUSH, US History is a strong subject for me), to assign me a prompt and they can quickly grade it over break? I'm applying RD to boost my GPA before I apply, so I have time. I really want to strengthen my application to compensate for weak grades in sophomore year.

Thanks and good luck to all applying, Reed is one of the best schools out there and its a shame most don't know about it.

^But the mainstream not knowing about it keeps it safe for the people who do know  Besides, Reed has a way of calling to people who belong there, heh.

Anyway, why don’t you ask for one of the essays back? I’m sure your teacher would understand if you explained the purpose.
