Does anyone know if colleges are starting to look at the SAT writing score more closely now? I think when it was first introduced most said they would disregard it for a while...Would this extend to applications for the class of 2012? Any info on specifically the Ivy League's "policy" for this would be great!

Nobody knows?

I think a lot of schools are still ignoring the writing scores. CR and math are still much more important.

Ivy Leagues:
weigh writing equally as important as CR & M: Harvard, Brown, UPENN, Dartmouth

does not weigh writing at all: Yale

unsure/weigh writing less: Cornell, Columbia

So there you go, 4 of the 7 Ivy League's weigh writing as equally as the other two

Thanks, juventus10. Unfortunately it wasn't what I was hoping, but I suppose Harvard has to narrow down the applicants somehow. Where did you find the info?

Actually,

Even the new writing section is not weighted equally as M+CR, you still need above 700 in writing section to make SAT score 2300+ assuming your M+CR = 1600. So the writing is important too.

my 2 cents
