Writing the "Why Chicago" essay

Hi guys, to cut a long story short, people have recommended that I cite individual programs or laboratories and professors when writing my "why Chicago" essay. My problem is that I fell in love with the school primarily because of its general atmosphere and attitude. Is it safe to focus my essay on that as opposed to specific academic programs?

Thanks

I think if you really get some insights into Uchicago other than academic perspective. you can definitely try it.

Well, there have to be specific reasons that you like atmosphere and attitude. If you aren’t able to pinpoint those factors and instead say that you “love the feel, buildings and quirky student body”, you’re going to be a difficult candidate to admit.

Can someone read my essay and tell me if its good or no?

I’m referencing specific buildings and libraries, as well as certain things that happened while I was on a campus tour last April. Would that be enough?

Yea, that seems fine. Depends entirely on how you spin it, though. Trust your writing skills.
