Hi guys, to cut a long story short, people have recommended that I cite individual programs or laboratories and professors when writing my "why Chicago" essay. My problem is that I fell in love with the school primarily because of its general atmosphere and attitude. Is it safe to focus my essay on that as opposed to specific academic programs?

Well, there have to be specific reasons that you like atmosphere and attitude. If you aren’t able to pinpoint those factors and instead say that you “love the feel, buildings and quirky student body”, you’re going to be a difficult candidate to admit.

I’m referencing specific buildings and libraries, as well as certain things that happened while I was on a campus tour last April. Would that be enough?
