I know it's a dog eat dog world, but could any give some advice?

Okay so I'm finishing up my UChicago application. Im doing the Requried Essay (Why UChicago?) and a lot of feedback I have gotten is that I shouldn't mention facts about the school as it looks as if I got it from the viewbook/internet. But my argument is that would it hurt to just make one or two referneces like, "I like that the school has a 6:1 student to faculty ratio" or "Programs such as the Office of Multicultural Affairs appeal to me because I could get support." I don't see the harm in it; it's not like 85% of my essay is mentioning every detail about the school. I'm trying to tell UChicago why I chose the school and things that I like about the school and I don't see how that makes me look like I'm just pulling things from the internet.

Also, what would you say should be the general word count for the "Why UChicago?" essay? With x being the word count, should it be, 250 < X <500?

Sorry for the mini-rant lol. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. =)

in my “Why Chicago” essay I named a few specific ECs and things that UChicago had.

it was actually a pretty cool essay, from the point of view of me looking back after having graduating from UChicago.

I wouldn’t mention numbers, but what the numbers represent.

smart person. smart person. Thanks a lot!

I actually think you should write more about YOU, rather than about Chicago - believe me, the admissions know a lot about Chicago, probably more than you do.

Mention something you did or some of your personality traits that match well with Chicago, and focus on the “traits” rather than the school.

That is kinda like what I did, Signit. Except mine wasn’t after graduation, but while I’m a student at UofC, and then looking back at why I made the right choice and my reasons for picking UChicago :)
