Writing your own recommendations...

So I asked one of my professors for a recommendation letter and he told me that he wanted me to write one for myself, to make it great, and then give to him to sign.

What am I suppose to write about??? Has anyone else ever written one for themself before? I am afraid that it is just going to sound too much like the rest of my application.

I think that constitutes plagirism. Get another professor. Seriously, if this person doesn't know what to write about you, they aren't the one to get a recommendation from.

It's not unheard of to do this, although I never have. Just google 'writing your own recommendation' and see what you find.

Do it man, this is your chance to give yourself the best recommendation in the world. Make yourself look like a god among students.

^ha ha, yeah, that's what one of my teacher said, but then i got someone else to write it. I don't know, i just didn't feel right writing my own rec

I would be like, "this student is the best I've ever had. He sits in the front of the class and charms everyone with his intellect. He reads books and plays badminton while organizing cancer fundraising at the same time. Best student ever in the world."

lol. Where can find professors like this?

hey naptown, are you talking about me in that rec? yes i am charming :D

just kidding :D
