Hi, I was wondering whether or not it is worth mentioning that as an activity I write in a journal/diary sort of thing. It is very extensive-- I have completed about 50 paper journals over the course of ... about nine years. I have written several pages nearly every day since then. Of course the writing in the beginning isn't any good at all, but would it by any chance show dedication to something? I also have writing on other parts of my activities list (clubs, other writing awards).
The thing is that the paper journals are a sort of private thing. ... that's why I don't know if it was worth mentioning.
thank you.

You could write in your essay about your joy and passion for writing. I did that on my Stanford essay.

maybe mention how you've looked back at your older journals and they reveal how much you've changed and grown...something like that.

so it IS worth mentioning? would it make me stand out in any way? haha. thank you.

I'm not sure it would count as an EC... if you are writing about writing (lol) you could probably work in a way to mention it. like birdkiller and christalena2 said.

I would count it as a hobby, not an EC. You could work it into your essay by saying how much you enjoy writing and such.
