Wrong college name in essay?

I didn’t realize it until afterwards, but I accidentally referred to the University of Central Florida as University of Florida in my essay to UCF! I only called it University of Florida once, and I referred to it as UCF all the times following, plus it wasn’t a recycled essay to begin with.

Are my chances to getting in to UCF gone? I emailed them an edited version asking them if they could consider it. :frowning:

Please give me some hope!!

I’ve heard admissions officers telling stories of how this has happened…and they won’t dismiss an application for this type of error.

Don’t think it’s an issue when you did mention UCF repeatedly. They can think it’s a typo since the names and acronyms are close. But there are some schools that are sensitive. It’s not amusing for Yale to be called Stanford.
