Hi
We just got our E-tickets from the AFA and they
have him flying in on June 29th from San Diego
I emailed the transportation assistant ( whose name was
on the letter ) and I thought of just contacting
the travel agencies directly- Any suggestions
from you pros ?
Thanks

Sounds like an error for sure. I would call in addition to email. Leave a detailed voice mail if you don't get a real person right off the bat. If I didn't hear back in 24 hours, I'd call again and do the voice mail dance until I got passed the machine to a real body and explain the situation. Don't think I would go to the travel agency directly at this point because AFA paid it and there are likely to be fare changes. AFA may be able to fix it without a fare change.

Of course - I have no experience with this so take it for what its worth!! I just checked my D's e-ticket - it has the right travel date, June 27th (thankfully).

By the way - when we saw how inexpensive AFA got the ticket for D we were excited about taking D ourselves and being on the same plane. Price difference for exact same travel itinerary: over 5 times more expensive for EACH of us than for her! Thought you would like to know your Uncle Sam has some good deals going on the Air Fare thing - your tax dollars are being well spent! They got a fabulous price - one that we can't come close to. I called the travel agent listed and they can't book families with the government rate (no big surprise there - but it was worth the try!). The rates they give us are more expensive than I got dealing direclty with the airline so we'll skip the travel agent.

Pretty exciting day when D got the airline ticket. Comment from D as she opens the mail: "Wow, this is really going to happen"!! :)

When did you all receive your E-tickets?

Our son got his yesterday. Interestingly the government paid almost twice as much for his ticket as I paid for our tickets for Parent's Weekend, and he is flying out of an airport that is farther from our home! I guess sometimes the government doesn't get the best deal.

WOW am I impressed ! When I checked my email this morning, around 7:00 here in sunny CA, I had an email with the corrected reservations.
One email took care of the mistake in a matter of hours, that is GREAT
service.

WOW - that is impressive that they fixed it so easily.

D got her e-ticket in the mail on Friday. Our parents weekend tickets are only 50% more expensive than AFA paid for D's ticket in June but we fly into Denver and she'll be flying into Colordo Springs in June.

The ticket does sort of make it all that much more "real", doesn't it?!

No kidding, I can now say exactly when I am leaving. I also signed up for the Bed and Breakfast after I got my ticket yesterday.

I did end up getting mine yesterday. A one-way ticket to USAFA. Imagine that. :)

just wait til you board the plane, or even drive/ride to the airport. it REALLY hits you then
