So I just found out that the auto-correct on my computer changed the email on all of my applications from a @live.com to an @*********. First off, I'm pretty *ed because all I remember is typing @live. Secondly though, what should I do? I currently own the other @hotmail address too so would it be rude to ask the schools to send another confirmation email? (Obviously although I am to blame, I dont want to take the blame and I'm overseas and so unable to check my phone)

Any help you can give is GREATLY appreciated

If the “wrong” email account you put down is, in fact, an email account you have access to, I would not send anything to the schools you applied to. Instead, check the other email account as soon as you can. I would think there would be SOME way to check the other account, even if you are overseas?

It may depend on how many schools/what types of schools you applied to, but if they are competitive schools, I wouldn’t risk putting yourself in a bad light.

Thank for the reply and your advice.

I only recently made the other email account so its actually bare and yes all the schools that I am applying to are of the very competitive nature. I was thinking of instead sending an email to the schools enquiring about the status of my application and asking if there was a problem and how I could help (after their recommended periods of course so like for example, Brown says 10 days)?

As unethical and immoral as it may sound, I guess I’m trying not to take the blame (although I acknowledge its my fault)>

I don’t understand. You own the hotmail account but you don’t want colleges to use it to communicate with you? Or do you not have the account that you gave to the colleges (by mistake)? If it’s the first, no problem. If second, then why don’t you just open an account that matches the address you gave in your contact information?

Maybe I haven’t explained the situation that well.

Its the second option Perseveance and by own the account I mean that I have opened the account (very recently mind you) that matches the address but I am afraid that some schools may have already tried to contact me via email and would not have been successful in doing so. To complicate matters, I am pretty much uncontactable as I am holidaying all over the place (no interviews either for that matter).

All-in-all, a pretty shocking admissions season for me! I dont think I even deserve to be admitted with all the stuff that has gone on this time!

Still appreciate the advice and comment, so Thanks!
