Wrong major...

Hi guys, I need some advice I guess.

I recently submitted my Common App to UPenn and I've been finishing up my supplement. I didn't realize however that while I did intend to major in Psychology, I changed my mind and wanted to go for BBB instead but completely forgot to change it onto my Common App. I know, I'm dumb and so careless. So now, do you think I should just direct my supplement essay towards Psychology instead of BBB? It's not like I don't want psychology. In fact, I wrote an earlier essay about it but I found something more interesting in BBB. Ugh, seriously hating myself right now.

Anyways, thanks.

Just email them and tell them you changed your mind on your intended major. It’s not a big deal.

It doesn’t matter what major is on your application unless you have to apply directly to a certain school within the university.

But, since OP mentioned that they want to write their supplement essay to support their major choice it would make sense to let the admissions office know about the change of heart and actually write about what they currently think they want to do.

I think you essays should support your major choice listed, so either let them know of the change or write about Psychology. You might want to focus on some things you have done outside of school that also support that choice.

As CPUscientist3000 said, you can change your major later.
