Hello, I'm currently a freshman in college and because I was hospitalized and partially hospitalized I missed school for a month and a half. I then decided at the time that it would be best for me to withdraw for the fall semester and drop all my classes with W's. I'm retaking all my classes in the spring semester and I think I can ace them now that I'm in better health. The reason I was hospitalized is sad and I'd rather not talk about it. Do I still have the potential to get into medical school?

Yes but you’re going to have to talk about the medical leave on your application because youre going to need to explain this semester. I am assuming you probably meant you just dont want to talk about it on the Internet though.

I just don’t want to say why I was in the hospital on the application either.

You don’t need to say why, but it would be good to say that it was medical leave. Then next thing to be certain to do is to address the underlying health issues, and upon return from medical leave, be ready physically/mentally/etc. ready to be successful in the future terms. Prove that whatever was a problem, it is dealt with and done.

Hey Duskwings I had similar issue as you … med schools will definitely understand the need to take a medical leave… I know its tough but don’t give up!
