W's Question for Transfer student

i posted one thread before but wanted to make sure i get my point across well...it seems the last time it sounded a bit confusing.....heres the deal....

Im a poli sci major, looking to get into ucla...i took way too many poli sci classes this semester and im looking into dropping 2 poli sci classes... would those w's being that they are direct major courses affect me? remember im a poli sci major and id be getting w's in poli sci classes! i hope not... i understand a few w's dont really matter but how about if the w's are direct classes towards your major ...i messed up and took more than i should have .....thanks for all your help...

repeat questions are just going to get repeat answers. but here's mine: we are not counselors, we cannot give you concrete advice... so go to your counselor! and bonus points... email the poli sci dept here at UCLA.

well liyana was no help..maybe she shouldn't waste her time I she has nothing to say...some people come here for advice, and in regards to the counselor thing, as we all know they dont know much

Look, if no one can help you here, no one can help you. Calm down; we're just students. And don't lash back at those who are here to help you.

i was trying to protect you from making serious decisions based on what you hear from students who are not counselors.

if you wanna take that risk, then, i won't stop you.

and the phrase "beggars can't be choosers" comes to mind.

MrPink and liyana don't know what they're talking about.

I transferred into poli sci last year so take my advice without question. Missing two required classes will hurt you a bit because getting into pre-poli. sci is very competitive, which means that the other applicants will most likely have all their preparatory courses done.

Also, keep in mind that the average admitted GPA for transfer was 3.65 for Fall 2008. If you have a solid GPA, write great essays, and you have some ECs, then you'll probably be able to compensate for missing those classes.

Apply for a transfer, and make sure to come back to tell us your failure so we can laugh at your shattered dreams!
