I’m applying for WUSTL ED. I’m just wondering if they put a lot of emphasis on standardized scores (SAT/ACT/SAT Subject test). My score is below their average but I’m applying ED and I have demonstrated a lot of interests by going to their summer program and emailing the admissions team several times. I’m the valedictorian and I’ve also taken on a lot of leadership roles and am very focused on a few of them. Btw, I’m not applying for financial aid and am an international applicant. Do you think I still have hopes?
@StressedSeniorInt , subject tests are not required. Is your score in their 25%? If so, and if you are ED and not asking for financial aid, I do think you have a shot at acceptance. That is if your demonstrated interest and ec’s are strong. I also think it only helps that you went to a summer program. Good luck!
What scores did you get? WashU is not as test score driven as Rice or Vanderbilt but they are still important.
OP, without grades and scores it’s really hard to tell what your chances are, even with the demonstrated interest from ED. Most accepted students will have pretty high standard test scores.
@Hamurtle, not to hijack op thread but would 3.7 unweighted gpa and 1490 sat qualifies for washu?
It would merit consideration. Son had the roughly the same GPA but 2290 on old SAT (1520/1600) and got in ED last year.
He did take 4 SAT subject tests-740 Chinese, 780 USH, 790 Biology M, and 800 Math 2.
@Hamurtle, thank you for your response
