Are my times good enough to run cross country or Track at MIT?

And if so, are my times good enough to be noticed by the coach so he can have some influence in the admission process?

I was told by a coach at MIT two years ago, he had no sway in admissions.

MIT is weird with athletes and college admissions. Email the coach with interest and your athletic and academic resume.

Ask the coach. If you’re a junior, he can’t really recruit you, but if you ask if your high school times are in the range of kids who run for him, he can tell you that much. You should read this letter before you start communicating with him:

Best wishes!
