^^^^^^^^^ is there one? I hear so much about the SAT...what about the ACT?

I'm sure you have read the threads that Xiggi has started from time to time on the Xiggi method. There are morsels of ACT advice hidden inside those threads . What my D did to turn her wierdly achieved 32 (36 Math,34 Reading,31 English, 26 Science) to a consistent 35 (nothing below 34) was:

to realize from Xig that science has nothing to do with science knowledge. It should be called science reading. Everything you need to answer the questions is given to you if ou can work fast enough to get to the problem.

to practice only with Official materials. To go over ALL of your answers , whether right or wrong, to understand why they were wrong, and equally as importantly why they were right.

to start out working in segments of tests, then progress to timed tests under as close to real circumstances as possible.

to realize that you can get tips from a variety of prep books ,online sites , wherever but the only thing that will increase your score is your own efforts in familiarizing yourself with the way this testing entity "tests" and you can only do that with real materials.

Hope this helps a little till Xig gets here.

I disagree that for the ACT you only should practice with official materials. For one thing, there are only a handful of official ACT tests out there. I have the PR Cracking the ACT book and it is definitely worth practicing with, along with the official ones. If you scan the forums it's the most often recommended one.
