Tomorrow after I’m done with school I’m going to go have a nice lunch with my mom and sister, then we’re having a spa day to relax and loosen up before the results come out. If I get in, we celebrate. If I don’t, we go out to ice cream and watch a movie. No matter what happens I just feel super blessed to have such amazing people supporting me throughout this entire process.
Remember to take the time to thank everyone who has helped you get to where you are, it’s been a hard journey but it hasn’t been one you’ve taken alone. Our parents and friends are probably equally as worried as we are. Make sure to return the love and keep it going whichever way tomorrow may lead <3
If it comes out at 5 PM ET, I’ll be in school (free period) when it comes out so my friends will be there when I open it. Honestly, I’m not going to wait until getting home since that just prolongs the anxiety!
was rereading my supplementals and realized that 107/242 words got deleted from my first one and it got cut off mid sentence on the common app. so . good luck to everyone else. im definitely out
@cavsin7 Can you contact Yale about it somehow? Maybe you can defer your application to RD and ask to rewrite it?That sounds unfortunate, I’m so sorry.
@cavsin7 I hope they accept it and it’s not too late! I would email them too just in case they don’t check up on updates this late. Maybe call them as well!
Okay this is gonna sound really lame but hear me out. Getting in tomorrow is like jumping off the high dive and doing a quadruple backflip into a swimming pool (not just an applicant pool). Yeah it’s virtually impossible for any random kid to pull it off, but you’re going to try anyway because why not. You’ve learned how to swim, you’ve worked so hard to conquer your fear and master your technique. Sure, the water might be cold and you’ll probably come real close to doing it (let’s say 3.5 backflips), but not quite. But no matter, you’re friends are on the side cheering you on even when the lifeguard says time to quit. Anyway, good luck to us all tomorrow. We deserve to pull off the quadruple backflip.
@cavsin7 I made a huge mistake as well – when I started the application in August or September, they had only updated the short answer questions on the website, so I ended up writing on the long essay prompts from LAST YEAR (because I thought they didn’t change the long essay prompts) and never realized the mistake until yesterday night when I was feverishly browsing the admissions site.
The answers are pretty similar to this year’s questions (though it’s pretty obvious I used last year’s prompts), but the order of the topics are changed as well, so my labels are wrong.
Today I sent them an update as well… hopefully they take it… I’m thinking I’m out as well. We’re in the same boat lmao
