Yale 2022 Applicants Discussion

@anxiouswreck I completely agree that it is ridiculous, but it does keep my mind busy and off the horrible wait, lol. We just started spring break so time will actually slow down for me even more since I am just hanging around the house.

That admits.yale.edu 403 error versus getting in way of determining was a thing in 2015/16 I think, but they definitely were made aware of it and have since patched it, so I doubt that that specifically would work.

@LondonVall Yes, my HTML class made us read source code and explain what the page should look like. We were forced to parse in our head.

There was once a theory that the admissions office had applicants’ numbers registered on all the office phones and you could tell whether or not you were accepted based on how the admissions officer greeted you when they answered the phone :)) :)) These are definitely ridiculous, but you have to admit, they are kind of fun! Makes you feel like James Bond but with less swagger and more homework

“James Bond but with less swagger and more homework” made me laugh! Lol @LondonVall

@LondonVall Yes, exactly, LOL. For some, it may seem strange and a waste of time, but for others, it is a fun game to keep the mind busy. To each there own I guess.

@writergirl0316 PERFECT . . . hahahahahahahahaha!!!

I might have missed this discussion, but did anyone else have their application checklist disappear in the portal?

Funny anecdote – my Harvard interview was with a radiologist who’s in residence at a huge hospital in Manhattan. I trekked down there, and then had to navigate this massive building in order to find her office (which was, mind you, past some operating rooms that I ~definitely~ should not have been allowed to waltz on through). When I got to her, she joked that she was already impressed by me because I was able to find her in that labyrinth of a hospital. I definitely felt a bit James Bond-ish at the time.

Am I the only one that doesn’t care about anything Harvard related? Never applied… this thread is all about Yale which is all I care about. The next 3 days of waiting are going to kill me.

ive never been so nervous in my life

there is absolutely no chance I’m getting into yale but i want to so badly and maybe if i want it badly enough my decision will magically change from a no to a yes before i see it on wednesday ?!!!?!?!

speaking of reading tea leaves, we read sheep innards where i come from. for anyone interested in political correctness, please read sheep innards also during speculation. :>

@musicalitty You can press the “Ctrl” and the “F” button at the same time, then you can see a textbox in the top right corner of your webpage. Just type what you want to find (eg. HUID) in the textbox, the result will turn to be yellow.

Can’t wait to close college confidential for the last time ever on Wednesday!

Yeah, sex is great, but have you ever tried closing the College Confidential tab for the last time? lol

@MatthewW12 you don’t have to close it for the last time. Who do you think answers all of your various questions about the schools you are applying to? There is only so much a mom like me can answer… we count on returning students to give actual input and real time answers.

Lol nope. Like I love CC and everything I’ve learned here but the stress is contagious and I don’t plan on enduring this any longer than I have to :)) I hope someone else is brave enough to take on this task

Finding those exploits is fun haha, or well, things in general that indicate our status. It’s like hacking or trying to beat the house at blackjack for example haha. (Card counters where you at xd).

@LondonVall @Memmsmom I’ll return! Because of olympiad medals, taking grad courses as a junior and doing research, I didn’t care at all about essays and completely neglected them because I thought they wouldnt matter anyway when you’ve done “advanced stuff”, so I doubt I’ll get admitted to any elite US college (seeing how important essays actually are), but I could give feedback on European universities and the process of applying the US colleges :D. It’d be weird to actually be on CC as a college student, instead of being a high school student, but cool too haha. Hope to still see some familiar faces if/when I return :-).

Yale is the last school I’m waiting to hear back from, and it’s been my dream school for forever, so lol this wait is super nerve wracking. Can’t tell y’all how much time I’ve spent on this thread, even though it’s just more anxiety-inducing…

But I wish everyone the best of luck on this thread!

Spring Break will either suck or be great depending on these decisions lol
