Yale 2022 Applicants Discussion

@Maschinenmädchen Omg! Watch you get into every school! I am getting chills at the interesting perspectives you’d bring to a campus! Omg if I were an admissions officer, I’d get so giddy reading your application lol

@LondonVall Thanks . . . blushing, your too nice, LOL.

Unfortunately, I have already been rejected from Swarthmore and Northwestern and was waitlisted at UChicago, Rice, and Amherst. I can’t seem to break into schools with a <12% acceptance rate.

I was also rejected from my dream school before I even applied . . . MIT. Since the 8th grade, I had been doing everything to get into MITES, but was rejected. I also didn’t get the good rejection letter with a fee waiver and comment that I was MIT material. I was also rejected from MIT MATHROOTS, and WISE and again did not get the good rejection letter. So, I never bothered applying (I was giving $250 and had to use that to apply to every school including CSS, so I only applied to schools that gave me waivers, then pocketed the rest).

I was also rejected from 7 out of 12 fly-in programs, 2 scholarship programs, QB and QB College Prep (parent’s income is $68K for a family of five so maybe that is too much), and “a partridge in a pear tree.” LOL

I was also deferred Princeton EA.

Anyway, I won’t play the victim since I got into some great schools Cornell Engineering (Mechanical), Williams College (Physics), Smith College, and CWRU.

A fellow SAMS participant omg :-h @“Maschinenmädchen”

@Maschinenmädchen
You got drive… We are rooting for you!!!
Which school is the front runner from the ones you received acceptances?

MODERATOR’S NOTE:

You left out an operative word. “try to find some loophole”. I would posit you will fail far more often than you succeed. And really guys, it’s bad enough that you are admitting to poking around the source code, but don’t be posting it here.

Also, this is the Yale forum, so I’ve deleted HUID discussion. Feel free to post in the correct forum.

@musicalitty nerves and stress can make a person look anywhere for anything lol! But we should probably finish this conversation on the Harvard thread

@LondonVall hold up. so HUID is for harvard’s portal, not yale??

Be wary of “cheating” (not exactly what I would call it) and trying to hack the system to get results early. It’s tempting, but I read once that Harvard Business School accidentally had a loophole to get to your decision early and all those applicants that took advantage of it were automatically denied because of issues with honesty and integrity. Imagine being accepted to a school like Harvard/Yale after all that hard work and losing it because you couldn’t wait a few days!
Not saying this is the case, or that decisions can be hacked early– just sharing some food for thought.

@LondonVall ah okay. this process is making us insane

But for those of you who did look into the source code, know that this will not negatively affect you at all. Again, source codes are open and free-access documents. It may seem silly to look this deep into It, but is in no way illegal or “hacking”

@Volunteerism The one that I can afford with the lowest amount of loans.

@“Maschinenmädchen” Another SAMS fam member!!! Yaaaaaa

@“Maschinenmädchen”
Excellent answer!!!

@FreePariah SAMS was such a great time, to bad the food was so bad.

@“Maschinenmädchen” we do not speak of Resnik lol

@LondonVall Sorry I didn’t see your post you beat me to it.

@LondonVall Exactly. My freshman HTML teacher taught it to us on our first day of class so we could temporarily edit our online grades and freak out our parents  Our first assignment was to edit the homepage of our school website and change the text lol.

@Volunteerism Thanks!!! I have been reading your posts for so long, I feel like I know you. I only recently got the courage to really start posting. So, I should also thank you for all your posts.

@FreePariah and let’s not talk about the Resnick mascots, i.e., the RATS!!! LOL

@LondonVall @writergirl0316 @“Maschinenmädchen” Thank you for the clarification! I know absolutely nothing about computers (I’m surprised I can even get on here with no problem I’m such a grandma lol), and what you said makes lots of sense. Doesn’t make what you’re doing any less ridiculous though
