Yale 2023 Applicants Discussion

I did not submit all of my SAT2 scores, is that ok? I submitted all ACT…

Can everyone with a question on standardized testing please just go read the Yale Admissions website on the subject. They lay it out better than any of us can and it’s much better to get first-hand information than to repeatedly ask the same question on CC.

This will get you started.

HI. on the standardized testing section of the application, it says that for subject tests, you can chose which if any to send to yale and that there is score choice . does this mean you can send one? or are the only options 0 and 2? I have called the admissions office twice and gotten 2 different responses.

You can send 0, 1, 2, 3…

the directions aren’t a trick. they’re pretty straightforward…

hi guys. So I submitted my regular decision application yesterday. however, I also just submitted my official test scores yesterday meaning they won’t reach Yale until 2 weeks from now. will Yale still contact me for an interview (if I were even considered to get one) or will they wait to receive all components of my application?

@shekw19 yale doesn’t require official tests scores, so it definitely will have no impact on whether you get an interview contact or not

For SAT subject tests, is it okay to self-report scores? I know you can choose which tests to report, but do they have to be sent in an official score report from College Board? Sorry for another question about standardized testing, I can’t find this anywhere on the website!

What’s up, fellow applicants.
Question: My school uses a semester system, with the first semester ending on February 1st. If I get deferred, does that mean that Yale requires me to send my updated report after the first semester, even though they have my grades from the first quarter? I’m worried b/c I think my grades are slipping. Yikes.

Wait, do they have reports for the first quarter of senior year? How come did I not know about this

UmUmUm - (sorry for changing your moniker  ) - Are you on a 4-quarter system or a trimester? Sounds like the former. You should have the GC send all official marks as they come in, and you can probably upload any interim (quarter?) marks as well if you want them to see those.

@andrea391 - if you are accepted SCEA you probably don’t have to send anything unless they specifically ask. Some schools do some don’t. Not sure about Yale.

Best to assume always that your 1st term senior grades are going to be sent before a decision is made

@lemonlime13 Hi  You are allowed to self-report scores for SAT subject tests as well as the SAT I / ACT. Hope this helps! For all tests, if you are admitted you will have to send official reports, but no need to worry about that now.

Even if you get in SCEA, the AO will require your GC to send in the mid year and final year reports as a condition of matriculation.

@crazyforhorses Phew, what a relief! Thanks so much

I applied early action and self reported my ACT score. Two weeks ago I realized I needed to send in all my ACT scores. I wasn’t trying to hide anything, I just made a mistake and didn’t read carefully enough. Totally my fault! I sent my three previous ACT scores(one being a 33 and the others a 34) in. Will this push me into regular decision since my official ACT scores came in several weeks after the early action due date? Thanks!

@girl19 I am not sure, but I don’t think so, as there is no deadline for self report score?

@girl19 you’ll be fine, as long as you eventually did send in all the scores. If you get deferred, I don’t think it’ll be because of that

does anyone have any tips with dealing with rejection or getting over a dream school? just preparing for the 14th ugh

Hey friends, this is my first time on a forum like this - I know I am not doing myself any favors, but my decision comes out next friday and I cannot help myself! I’m an American, but I was born and have lived in Europe my whole life. I’ve been wondering how many expats like myself are likely applying to Yale this year. Is anyone on here of a similar background?
