Intended major: neuroscience and behavior/MB and if double major, linguistics or political science as second major
GPA: 4.0
SAT: 2380
SAT II: 800 chem, 800 USH, 770 lit, 760 bio (not enough space to report the second two on the common app, that's pretty convenient haha)
Class rank: school doesn't rank. Top decile.
Courseload: most difficult - 2 AP classes sophomore year, 4 junior year and 5 senior year
AP scores: all 5's so far on 6 AP exams
Competitive public school in competitive state.</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
Indian vocal music - have been singing for 14 years. Debut solo concert at 10 years old. Tight performance schedule during school year and summer months, recording contract in India, raised $11,000 in solo and group benefit concerts, performed at an international festival this summer, performed in 14 states and 4 countries. I get paid for many of my performances. Have been televised in India and mentioned in arts sections of national newspaper twice. Pretty much my life.</p>

<p>Research - I've been working in the same lab for 2 summers, one year as an intern and the second year doing independent work. My project connects music therapy with hand function recovery in stroke patients. A really interesting way of connecting my interests in music and neuroscience. It's still in progress and I will not be finished or published by the time apps are due :(</p>

<p>Model UN - elected leadership position over a committee of 150 people for 2 years running
My state's Youth and Government - elected leadership over a committee of 80 for 2 years running. Chosen to represent my state at the national conference over the summer.
Violin: ABRSM grade 8 violinist. First violinist in school chamber orchestra. I teach a few students as a paid job as well.
Peer Leaders - exec board member. Organized our school's freshman orientation, new
student orientation, gave drug-alcohol talks to incoming freshmen etc.
Mock Trial - co-captain, prosecution attorney. We were regional semifinalists last year.
Spanish Correspondence - president. We do community service for Latin American countries and develop penpal connections with Spanish-speaking students there.</p>

<p>Recs: should be good. Teachers loved me but they weren't the type I could make BFFs with. Additional rec from state director of my state's Youth and Government program - he knows me very well.</p>

<p>Essays: Unique topics. I hope they're good, can't give you an objective opinion haha!</p>

<p>Extras: fluent in four languages.</p>

<p>Which 6 APs? </p>

<p>HuG and the economies are pretty easy, while APUSH and Physics are hard, so there is a really big difference.</p>
