Supplementary Materials | Application to Yale College | Freshmen | Office of Undergraduate Admissions

Art

Images of your artwork may be submitted as a supplement to your application for admission to Yale College. All materials must be sent to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions by the appropriate application deadline (November 1 for Single-Choice Early Action candidates; December 31 for Regular Decision candidates; or March 1 for transfer candidates.) Materials submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

Submit no more than 20 images of your work. Images should be in jpeg format and submitted on a CD or DVD. Slides are also accepted. Slide portfolios should be enclosed in a standard 8 1/2 x 11 plastic slide sheet. Be sure to write your name on your CD, DVD, or slides.

Choose pieces of your work that demonstrate the fullest possible range of your talents. Try to ensure that your technical and expressive abilities are equally represented. You are encouraged to include images of your drawings.

A simple typewritten inventory must accompany your work. The inventory should include your full name (as it appears on your admissions application), date of birth, and the name and state or country of your high school.

Each image must be numbered and the corresponding inventory entry should include the title, medium, size, and date of the work. Please indicate if the work was done from life.

Your supplementary material will not be returned. Please do not send us original work.
