@everest23: I’m not doubting you, but where’d you get that from?
@chickybugger: Hey, we all love Yale, and I like her initiative Tell her good luck from all of us on the thread!
And there’s no point being competitive-- all of you guys are at least, if not more, qualified than I am, and if I receive a rejection, it’s nice to imagine one of you, maybe including Jackie, jumping up and down in happiness as they read their acceptance :D

We’re all in this together, not to be cliche. But seriously, it’s somewhat of a random luck draw. And although I’m sure we’ll all be sad if rejected, none of us should really take it as an ego blow.

When I first started looking at Yale, I thought my fellow applicants would be snobby and just try to beat out everyone else without regard to anyone’s feelings. Part of the reason I fell in love with Yale is because I quickly discovered how false that was-- the prospective Yalie 2016ers are a really supportive group :)

i was so calm.
SO calm.

but finally…i’m getting that fluttery nervous feeling o______o

@ermsypermsy you sound so sweet:) haha

I know… less than 24 hours. OMG.
@newmercy thanks!! :)

No I understand. For some reason, I don’t exactly remember where I got it from… all I know is that something caused me to put “Yale Decisions - 6 pm” in my iCal. Soooo… I guess I’m actually not sure. Either way, I’m going to start checking at 5 pm. probably 4 pm haha

Less than 24 hours. Sweaty palms. :)

Seriously. The butterflies have started.

I’m so scared. But so excited! In all honestly, good luck to every single one of you. I’m with ermsypermsy, you all sound like amazing kids who are more than deserving of an acceptance of a lifetime like this. It would be surreal for me to become a Yalie with you guys, but if I don’t get that opportunity, I’d say there’s no better consolation than knowing that there are some sincerely great people receiving it in my place.

Keep the good thoughts churning! ;)

Let’s do something to distract ourselves.

VOILA, the Random Questions Game! (My boyfriend makes fun of how much I like to play this game…) Starting easy, getting more complicated.

So this thread moves more quickly than I can keep up with it haha.

I chose Yale because of the people and the culture they create here. I’ve found that this tends to be a pretty common answer for Yalies when asked why they chose to come here. I visited Yale and Princeton back-to-back, and there was just something about how open, friendly, humble, and charming the Yalies were that was refreshing. I just felt accepted on this campus, instantly.

To be brief: the general vibe I got from Yale was “hey, how are you, what’s going on in your life, tell me about yourself!” The general vibe from Princeton was “hey, what’s your SAT score?”

But yeah, best of luck to you all!

Harvard, Princeton

Broke wrist falling off the back of a Suburban; broke finger while playing the violin; tore every ligament in my ankle jumping off the side of a balance beam … in Italy

Dream schools other than Yale?
Naval Academy

Ever broken a bone? / Got a cool story about it?
Nope…I drink milk. Three sports, 8 letters, and competing since I was 4, lucky!!

Something interesting about you
Courage and confidence at levels that impress many.

A secret. It doesn’t have to be major. But remember that none of us will ever know who the others are.
Oh but there are just some things that are better left unsaid.

If you had a pet giraffe, what would you name it?
Winston Churchill

You just got a thousand dollars. What do you do with it?
I would buy $1,000.00 worth of grinders for my friends and have them delivered at lunch time during school. Now that would be fun!!

Favorite AP course.
Bio, not my field of study but really cool stuff

Do you consider yourself attractive?
Absolutely yes, but not with arrogance

What, in your opinion, is the most macho way to die?
For our nation. It’s not macho, it just an accepted choice. I’ll be 5th generation military when I’m done with college. Serving is very important to me.
and lastly,

Three things you’re terrible at
This is tough being confident the question is not easy. I’m not terrible at anything because of my desire to give something all I have. Push to be positive and get results.

NEW QUESTION: Three things you’re very good at
Accepting all others - Very important to me, I have so many friends and they all have something that I learn from
True Friend - If your doing something wrong I’ll stop you and get you into another place where the wrong stops. I have had friends get mad at me but later say thank you.
Passion - This could very well be my secret. My passion runs deep but at 18 I have to be careful or people could take advantage of that. My passion is important, it’s what make me care about so many things and helps me understand just life in general.
