omg just submitted my app and im literally shaking and smiling like a crazy person!! good luck to all of you guys :)

My child visited Yale last month and fell in love with the school. The residential college set up provided a support system which reminded her of a strong family network. Every student we encountered was genuinely happy and grateful to be on campus. Unfortunately, the low admittance rate is too much of a gamble for us. We decided to “early” elsewhere. Good Luck to all during the SCEA round.

Will they all go online at the same time? In england, people hear back from unis at completely different times!

^ nope, different colleges release their SCEA/ED results at different times. Yale’s usually one of the later ones hahaha so more suspense for us ;)

Just got my Eli account + contacted for an alumni interview! Aaahhh!!

Me too.

And my act scores haven’t been recieved by them yet. >.>

Just got mine too. No interview yet. Part of me hopes I don’t get one-- my nerves would kill me.

Yeah, same here. Eli account said I have everything in, but I hope that I don’t get an interview, hehe.

Submitting my app this weekend! I’m really nervous but excited! I’ve never visited; I’m waiting to see if I get in or not first! I didn’t want to fall in love with it and then not get in haha! I know I will for sure have an interview because my dad knows the man who interviews applicants from around here! It’ll be so nerve-wracking, but I think it’ll help! Good luck to everyone!

Applied SCEA, already had my interview 2 days ago!
It went well, but now I can’t seem to activate my Eli account.

I got an email from Yale today including a 9-digit “student ID”.
When I go to the website to activate my account, I enter the ID and it says “The PIN you entered is not a valid PIN.”

Is “student ID” and my “PIN” the same thing? If not, when will I get my PIN and what is the ID for then? Anybody else have this problem?

Anyone in the DC/MD/VA area get contacted for an interview?

alocik- I had the same problem. Your student ID and PIN aren’t the same thing, use the PIN. Mine was just letters, I don’t know if yours is too. Good luck!

Yes I got this email too and haven’t received a pin. The most confusing part was that the student ID was 9 numbers and the email said to enter a nine-character PIN… but the website asks for a 12 letter PIN.

@ShineSoBright

I’m in MD (near DC) and haven’t heard anything.

on the eli account activation email, it says the early action decision comes out december 14th? is that a typo or does it actually come out on that friday?

for alumni interviews were you contacted by email?

So far all I’ve gotten is mail from the Chairman of Central South Carolina Yale Alumni or something telling me that some lady has been assigned to interview me.

She has yet to respond to my email. It’s been a few days.

Got my Eli Account. Living in NM I’m not really expecting an alumni to be in my region, but maybe!

Is there any way to check through my Eli Account if my transcripts were received? All my scores are in and I have a green check next to the application status, but nowhere does it specifically confirm the arrival of my transcripts.

I got the email today to set up my Eli Account and only see the 9-digit “student ID”.

Can anyone tell me where to find the 12 digit PIN to activate my account? Is it in another email?

No, it’s the second bullet point under ‘1. Eli Account Activation’
