SO the SCEA results are coming out in a week, and I just found this thread. I don’t feel behind at all… what’s happening, everyone?

Soooo the SCEA results will be out one week from today… I was JUST contacted for an alumni interview. I’m baffled as to whether there is any meaning behind the last minuteness of it all.

@nawtsocliche, I read somewhere that the interviewer reports were due by Dec. 1.
I could easily be wrong, but if that’s the case then I still think you should give it a shot. It is a great chance for you to meet someone who can tell you a lot about his or her experiences at Yale, which I think is in fact more important than how the interview will actually affect your admission chances. My advice: go for it! Most of the interviewers are really nice and successful people from what I hear anyways (mine was for sure!)

@nawtsocliche

like alocik said, my interviewer also mentioned reports being due by december 1st…but who knows, maybe they really need something to decide between you and someone else?

And all of a sudden, there’s less than a week to go.

nawtsocliche, you never know. Interview reports are due on December 1st, so this late request might mean one of two things:

1) Your interviewer just dropped the ball and didn’t contact you until now.
2) You’re a borderline applicant and they assigned an interview to you.

Modest Mouse is sooooo gooooood. My first introduction to them was when they had that American Idol music video for Float On, haha… the one with Chris Sligh and all those crazy afros. I remember thinking ‘Oh man, this is a pretty cool song’ but back then I was too young to really know any better and moved on without looking deeper (although would I truly have appreciated it at this point?). I really got into some more obscure MM stuff because of playlist.com, haha. I remember searching for Float On and checked out their other songs and got hooked. Isaac Brock is a genius.

Going back to bands whose worst songs made them popular - classic example is my favorite band Counting Crows. Mr. Jones is ehh…dig into some more emotional/depressing songs like Perfect Blue Buildings or Amy Hit the Atmosphere and it’s golden.

I’m from Seattle. Eagerly waiting for decision day!

Accepted:
I’m on top of the world - Imagine Dragons
Let’s go - Matt & Kim
Deferred/Rejected:
Probably just shuffle either Smashing Pumpkins or Kid Cudi

Does anyone know when the decisions will be released?

12/14. You guys are great. In reading all of the other ED/SCEA threads, everyone is stressing out. I love the digression into music. Good luck everyone!

KyleGC, thumbs up for Imagine Dragons! I’m a sucker for that type of music.

ivymania, they are released at 5PM EST.

Thanks, lacrossemom!

I swear if this thread devolves into one of those…

It probably will either the day before or the day of decisions, haha.

But for now, I am content.

My parents don’t want me to go to a college so far away. QQ

I’m pretty sure posts are gonna get progressively shriller (I blame myself).

Philovitist, did they just tell you this now? D:

retrohippo, me too. Even though I have an inkling about what my decision is already.

No, it’s been this recurring thing. They don’t trust me. (for reasons that don’t have to do with me having been a bad person in the past)

Now they’re wishing I had applied to Duke ED. :/

hollyyy another one of my friends got accepted into university, starting to feel left out here

Yeah, my friends are being accepted all over the place. Ah well, no regrets.

Yeah, it’s kind of hard watching people getting accepted everywhere while you’re still in limbo :/

And is it just me, or there an inordinate amount of adcoms calling applicants this year? O_o
