I haven’t noticed. But don’t over-analyze it! Just a few more days! My friend said all decisions have probably already been made because they need to sort out Financial Aid - such a depressing thought haha (apologies, this is verging on shrill ).

Great :/

I’m not gonna lie. I was cyber-stalking my regional admissions officer on FB yesterday. Yes, I’m slightly ashamed, haha.

@can’tconcentrate thats hilarious

If I get accepted I will sing ‘That’s why I chose Yale’ (yes, I pretty much know the entire thing) for the rest of my life!

omg i memorized like all 16 minutes of that’s why i chose yale xD
and adcoms call to raise their yield i think. my adcom told me that their yield for SCEA admits last year was around 90%.

90%??? Why do you reckon it’s not 100%??

Also, just as an aside, how do we know it’s 5PM EST we find out?? I can’t find that ANYWHERE!!! Or is it based on previous years?

Why not 100% ? Because they tend to obtain GREAT offers that lure them away. One interviewee last year – who was absolutely stunning in qualifications – was a hands-down SCEA admit. But this person also got a great offer from another school. We talked many pluses and minuses – I did my best for Yale – in the end Yale was turned down. Got an email during Thnxgiving. The student thanked me profusely and is having a wonderful time at the other school – I wasn’t in the least bit surprised. That’s how it goes sometimes.

I think based on previous years, but I’ve also read that in the past they’ve released results before 5

I know quite a few people applying to top notch schools who’ve said they’d trade an Ivy/top notch admittance for a half or full ride to a decent state school. It’s all about priorities.

Philotivist - are you from North Carolina? I saw you said Duke was close to home. It is for me too and my parents are definitely cheering for an acceptance from Duke instead of Yale…

South Carolina

First real snow fall of the year over here! Fat, lazy snowflakes making an over-due appearance

I would think that admissions officers would call after EA offers were made, no?

Oh well. This week is gonna be a big mind game for me… It’ll be terrible.

So it seems any reference to the Dec. 14 date has disappeared on the Yale website or the Eli account as far as my son (SCEA applicant) can tell. Any thoughts what that might mean? Since the 15th is a Saturday, is Monday the 17th in play possibly?

@CC20132017 I did not have mine change to the names yet. I’m not sure what that means exactly, but that is interesting…

Also, does anyone else have the Mid-year report come up as “Not Received”? Is that supposed to be that way or am I actually dumb enough to be missing forms this late in the process?

@keesh17 YIKES I really hope it comes out Friday, I remember it was on the email that Yale sent out about the ELI accounts.

@CC20132017 Mine doesn’t say the name of any of my teachers, just “Teacher Recommendation”

Ooh okay music uhhh Kpop
Accepted: Only One- BoA, It’s My Time-Sunzoo
Deferred: I Told You So- Karmin
Rejected: Ass Back Home- Gym Class Heroes (LOL)

@CC20132017 Mine does too! That’s interesting that it hasn’t changed for others though. Hmm maybe this means they have finished reviewing our applications?

@CC2013 my teacher reccs have also changed to the actual names of my teachers, not too sure what that means…

and @captainbrohab my mid-year reports are also marked “not received”, I talked to my guidance councillor about this and was told that as long as all your marks up to the present were sent, its fine. In my school, mid-year marks don’t get issued until january

Mine’s changed to the names of the teachers…
Maybe it means we’ll hear sooner???

Hopefully sooner! Yep, my recs have also been changed.
