Oklahoma. Gotta love it.

whether i get accepted or rejected, i’m playing this after to remind myself that college admissions mean very little in the grand scope of things:

I’m going to keep hope that even though I wasn’t contacted until 12/4 for an interview, I’m not certainly deferred. She seemed in a rush to get the interview scheduled, so hopefully that says something. I’m awfully overanalytical, oh my.

Also, cake pops are my one true love in the realm of desserts.

Well, sure. You’re an SCEA kid who’s being interviewed after early admissions decisions have already been made.

I don’t think the interview people and the adcoms discuss who’s in or not much at all. The interviewers are just trying to do their jobs.

@JordanSaidWhat, I was contacted for an interview last Thursday (12/4) also. However, my interviewer told me that it was his mistake, that he had received my name for interviewing early November, and just NOW had time to pull it together. He said he called the adcom, told them of his predicament, and they told him that he could send in the report by this previous Friday. Not sure what all of this means and its significance or importance to you, but, it’s still an interview! You’re definitely in the running, so keep your hopes up!

My birthday is Thursday. Yale, please give me a nice present!

I’m from VA and a really competitive school, but I think I’m the only one applying to Yale SCEA. Everyone else at the top of the class either applied to Princeton, MIT, or a safety (like UVA) early.

Of my school, only I and a girl I know applied early anywhere; she applied ED to Pitzer.

Last year maybe 5-8 did SCEA to Harvard but all were rejected or deferred.

Last two years, one person each year has gotten into Yale (not to mention numerous other Ivy+…), but only one matriculated there. I had the same interviewer as him, he was a senior my sophomore year.

Really bad low income public school in San Bernadino County, CA. Pretty much no one is college bound, at all. When I told someone I would be applying early to Yale, but didn’t expect to get in, he replied, “I don’t get it, if someone can pay for it why wouldn’t they accept them?”

I’m from TX and a very competitive public school. I think I’m the only one applying Yale SCEA also… everyone else at the top of our class is applying to either UPenn, Stanford, or Harvard.

I know nothing about anyone.

My high school counselor said that Yale will call to tell him about my result on Thursday.

Seriously?? How?

I want my counselor to tell me that :/, haha.

Does yale do that for everyone?

:O

I’ma ask my GC about that.

@AAlocal How did your counselor find out about that? Email?

Hope my GC gets a phone call… although they might not call long distance!!

I don’t think that counselor thing is legit. I mean they definitely inform counselors a but I don’t think they would tell them before they tell students.

Would they really call 600-700 people ?

hmmm yeah the counselor call thing seems a little suspect but who really knows I guess. It’s really annoying that the decisions are set but we have to wait three days still. Oh well, what’s three days when we’ve waited forty already.
