@redboldx it depends on the type of book. older books have that musty smell (there’s something scientific as to why but I can’t quite recall), some books have a chocolate smell, some have a very faint smell. sometimes you have to flip through the book and actually put your nose in it.

disclaimer: do not smell books in public if you don’t like being judged.

I wished I were a speedreader.

I said I wish I was better at singing because I’ll always lose the princess to a guy who can strum four chords and carry a tune.

I said I wished I was better at giving advice to people.
Oh, and (know this is a little late) for my common app essay I wrote about my first african dance class and how terrible I was at it, but how doing something I was terrible at helped tone down my ego and perfectionism.
And for my supplement I wrote about being a practicing Zen Buddhist and going to a week-long silent meditation retreat.
I guess I didn’t link any of them to Yale or anything academic for that matter, oops…

I want to post my “what I wish I were better at”, but it’s my favorite and I’m too afraid someone will steal it :’(

Better than my parents, though. “Why did you apply? You’re gonna get rejected anyways.”

Mom told me I was going to be rejected. I was, like, “Wow, mom, if you turn out right, that’ll prove you psychic once and for all.”

awh. Three cheers for parent support!

Hip, hip…

What would be the first thing you guys would do when you arrive on the Yale campus after being accepted?
