Yale Class of 2017 SCEA Discussion thread

My school is on the small side (<150 in my class) and as far as I know I’m the only person applying early to an ivy or other top school. I think only one or two students from my school have gotten into an ivy in the past four years or so. Most apply to local schools.

I think Metro sells iTunes cards redboldx

And yes @cantconcentrate i do know what ubc is! :D

Yea ivy I have about 170 or so in my class, but there are three of us applying to top schools early. My best friend (one of those 3) got into Columbia last week, so that has given me some hope at least. But my counselors have told me that only 1 guy in the last 13 years has gotten into Yale from our school… that doesn’t look great for me lol

@kelgrl I had a dream last Saturday that I was accepted. Needless to say, I wasn’t very happy when I woke up. So disappointing.

my class started an admissions group on fb today and about 20 people have already been accepted to places. >.< i wanna be in college!

Depending on my mood and free time after friday, I might test the reliability of my chancing methods somehow by comparing it to early admissions data.

Philo, that would be interesting to see and compare.

I don’t know how hard I’ll take my rejection, though. ^_^

For all I know, I could be part of the mass exodus that happens around this time.

so it says sometime Friday evening…anyone know what that means???
also anyone else feel like this week has been the slowest one in their life?

@hope2013 yes!

I feel like once friday is over life will resume its regular pace and I will have some catching up to do!

This week hasn’t been as bad as I thought. There’s times I don’t HAVE to be doing something (though I should) and dread over the wait, but there’s many times I’m on the go at school or in music outside of school this week. Tomorrow I have a test, a full day of classes, a choir concert and plenty of homework for Friday so I should be good in not having much time to wait in agony.

Hopefully this is a sign, but I highly doubt it… three of the past four nights I’ve dreamed that my friend from my school and I were both accepted, only to wake to the reality that there’s still a couple days left until we all hear. My mind is toying with me!!
I’m just so nervous because the thing that I feel is holding me back the most is something that I could have had complete control of. For some reason I had a really bad day for SAT IIs so I only got a 670 on math II, 710 on math I and 720 on Bio. Then, my lazy side decided not to take them again when I easily could have gotten much closer to 800. But what’s done is done. Good luck surviving for the next day and nineteen hours and I hope that all deserving of acceptance are admitted!

@Cedardog I wish I could say that I am comforted by the prospect of a busy day tomorrow and Friday, but I’m not exactly sure that I am. I have two full days of school a Bio free-response, many make-up assignments since I missed two days of school last week, three huge tests, callbacks for my school’s One-Act Play competition, choir rehearsal for the Area competition in the All-State process choir competition, and a leadership training to head off to only a mere 2 hours after receiving Yale’s decision Friday evening. Here’s to the weekend!

so I know this is from a few pages back but what’s the deal with high counselors possibly being notified of admissions decisions tomorrow?

@impatient95, I don’t think that’s anything to worry about. I talked to my counselors and they said that that has never happened before.

If anything, counselors will find out the day we find out or after.

hope2013—Although Yale hasn’t explicitly stated it (to my knowledge), judging from past years, decisions will be released at 5:00 pm EST.

I’m debating whether I should check NUS or just Yale first.

Screw NUS.

:o

Scandalous.
