No one from my school has ever gone to an Ivy. My whole town is supporting me. It’s very encouraging!

@CantConcentrate, do you think that NUS decisions will come out at 5 pm EST as well?

Do you think NUS will be more or less selective than the regular Yale admissions?

Just out of curiosity, Philo, why the hate with NUS?

speckle8, my interviewer said it would come out on December 14th (US time), but didn’t specify what time, so I have no idea.

LucyP32, me too! I feel like my whole school is behind me… metaphorically speaking, of course.

jamescollege, less selective than RD Yale, more selective than EA Yale.

CantConcentrate, it is a lot of pressure!

Oh Philovitist, so high and mighty, I am sure you would take a NUS acceptance in a heartbeat…

LucyP32, and don’t you feel like, once one teacher knows, EVERYONE ends up knowing and asking you about it?

-_______-

Yes I’m dreading that… Unless it’s good news!

Excuse my ignorance, what is NUS?

My grade is pretty small 31 people, and everyone knows plus some teachers

NUS is Yale in Singapore.

I’m considering not even checking, if I can… I’m not feeling good about my chances.

lol maybe take it and throw it away

Same, LucyP32! It doesn’t hurt to be optimistic… that is, until a mob approaches you that Monday afterwards.

Ironically, I’m feeling better about NUS than Yale.

Once again, Philo, why the hate?

Cause he’s a jackass who thinks he is going to get an Ivy acceptance off the bat.

So as I’ve approached this from the astronomical perspective a couple pages back, I think I’ll try quantum theory. Technically, until we look at our decisions, they are, to us, in a super-position between accepted, rejected, and deferred. So while the admissions committee has observed our decisions and thus they are technically “made”, to us, we are all at once accepted, rejected, and deferred until we check.

Therefore, by that logic I am currently 33% accepted.

So there.

BOOM. Bestillandknow0, I will gladly take that logic and run.

^I don’t think that’s how quantum theory works - a wavefunction is not ACTUALLY 1 or 0 - it’s a probability somewhere in the middle. Just like how the universe doesn’t decide where a particle is until you measure it.

Whereas your admissions have probably already been decided (scary thought for all of us, heh)

yay physics!

(and yes i know he was joking)

If we get accepted we should do a remake of “That Why I Chose Yale”

Also Phil, I have no idea, but you may want to watch what you say, IDK if Yale would ever monitor this, but if you have any distinguishing details in your profile, saying you would “throw away a NUS acceptance” probably isn’t the best of ideas.

Heh yeah, Ambience I thought of that as I was writing the post. But I believe that since we have not observed the decisions, due to the theory of parallel dimensions, once we see the decision there is a splitting of worlds, in which all possible outcomes occur for US.

This is how I distract myself. I should sent this to Yale…

Anybody out there thinking about doing NROTC?
