yes, i agree. . it’s probably the alums mistake. I manage a committee of alumni who do the ‘interviews’ for Cornell (although those contact sessions are non-evaluative, unless some extraordinary is revealed). If the alum is busy, or misses an email, it’s possible that an applicant may not get that interview. but i don’t believe it negatively impacts your chances at all.

I appreciate the responses. Nothing i can do about it at this juncture anyway. Best wishes to you all.

Any chance they come out before 5? It looks like emails were sent around 4 last year.

What email? For everyone?

They should send an email out to all the applicants saying the decisions can be accessed. It is scheduled for 5 P.M. EST.

We will all know for sure in just 3 more hours…

yo guys, just wanted to echo Arindia’s post. Yale was my dream school and I had the fortune of being accepted SCEA last year and getting to attend. And yeah it’s awesome here but it’s not magical or anything and there are definitely things that can be better. So just don’t build it up too much in your mind and don’t let a single arbitrary decision define you or how successful you feel. It is great here and I am happy I got to make this choice but nearly everyone I know is very happy at the school they ended up at. Take a deep breath and remind yourself that you’re going to end up at a great school, whether or not its name is four letters and starts with a Y. Best of luck everyone! If anyone has any yale related questions feel free to pm me or ask them here and I’ll maybe see them

Thanks litotes for the words of wisdom! Best of luck guys. :)

2 hours…

Time to cry

But I’m not getting home until 4:45 >.>

Just wait, there will be a technical glitch, and we’ll have to wait even longer…

You betcha. Time is crawling.

I can’t focus on anything. I need to see my deferral already so I can go do other things in peace.

I think the worst thing that could happen to me is a deferral. I can’t stand waiting that long. I’d rather take a rejection.

ok… gonna start watching Mean Girls to get through these last two hours. best of luck to everyone who sees this… remember, a Yale decision letter can’t change your worth.

@NerdTown17, couldn’t agree more!

Let’s gooooooo!!!

I’d say the worst thing is a deferral and then applying again to get rejected, or even wait listed… to endure waiting even more.

These look to be the current admissions stats. They look to be coming in somewhere in between the harsh Stanford REA and the rather generous Harvard SCEA ones. Good luck to you all.

Yale College received 4,774 EA applications this fall. We are sending 759 letters of admission today, reflecting a 15.9% admissions rate. Of the EA pool 2,735 are deferred for reconsideration in the spring, and 1,225 are denied admission.

YaleGradandDad: where is that info from?
