Duke, Vanderbilt, UPenn, Princeton, Amherst, Williams, Middlebury, Swarthmore etc

Does anyone know the exact date and time the admissions decision will come out on?

Also, I was wondering if someone had any insight into how important counsellor recommendations are. My counsellor wrote a very generic four paragraph rec (around 300 words). I have another strong applicant from my school with a highly personalised rec of about 1300-1500 words. How badly do you think this will damage my chances of getting in?

How much are applicants compared within a school? I find myself getting wrapped up in comparing myself to the other Yale SCEA applicants from my school and I keep forgetting about the overall 6% acceptance rate haha. I’m just wondering how much it matters…

december 16th, in the evening - this is according to an email from yale, so i dont think it would be any earlier?

ive read that short/generic counselor recs dont hurt your application, since public schools usually cant make them as personalized as private schools with less students and more counselors. i wouldnt worry about it! they know that counselors dont know all their students super well!

@nausherwan96 are u from Pakistan?

Haha Decisions for you guys comes out on my birthday! Happy day for me and hopefully for the rest of you! Good luck! :)

@kqguo10 Yes, I play the flute. I am planning on double majoring in music. How about you?

@apesrock Wow, you have multiple people from your school applying. I’m the only one who did SCEA.

Three people are applying from my school @paleselan

I’m the only SCEA from my school but someone submitted a RD app already.

I think I’m the only person from my school applying to Yale early. There is one other Questbridge Finalist at my school, and she didn’t rank Yale.

@minastirith Yup, I’m from Pakistan.

@nausherwan96 how many kids from your school applied? are any of them good?

@chives123 nausherwan96 will provide all of us a tough competition. Apparently two people are applying from his school and both of them are phenomenal. Believe me.

@flutist5 I’m not totally sure yet if I want to pursue a double major in music, but I put it under “other academic interests”.

there are ~9 people applying from my school, but we live in an ivy league town so it’s not uncommon. theyre all really impressive, so ive gotten to the point where i have to stop thinking about it or i go crazy :/
